General Information

Please be informed before proceeding with the application!

The total program fee is $1950 USD, which pays for faculty honorariums and location fees, among other built-in costs. Please note that the fees do not include meals, accommodations, and transportation to, from, and within Georgia.

We require a $150 USD deposit (non-refundable) in order to guarantee your space in the program. A second payment of $300 is due by May 15, and the remaining balance of the program fee must be received by June 5, 2019. Any exceptions must be negotiated with the Program Coordinator at slsinfo@sumlitsem.org. Please note that unless payments are made on schedule, we cannot guarantee a place in the program.

In addition, a limited number of need-based fellowships are available. Please submit a short statement of need (2-3 paragraphs) and any supporting documents (optional) to the Program Coordinator at slsinfo@sumlitsem.org. You may also wish to look into other sources of funding.

Please note that SLS will not assume responsibility for participants’ accommodations and travel. We will, however, offer assistance in finding suitable accommodations.

All monies will be refunded in full to students who are not accepted into the program, or, if for any reason, the program is cancelled.

All payments (excluding the $150 USD deposit) are fully refundable if a participant withdraws from the program voluntarily by June 5, 2019. A cancellation fee of $500 USD will be assessed for any cancellation after June 15, 2019. No refunds will be made once the program starts, regardless of the student’s participation.

The effective date of cancellation will be the date that such written notice is received by the Program Coordinator.

Note that your privacy is important to us. We will never rent, sell or disclose your information to any third parties.
